Fantasy Warrior 2 (Good/Evil)
I can’t remembered when was the time I started using a mobile phone, but I do remembered it was a nokia 3310 and it has this nice little game called snake. Anyone who owned a Nokia phone at the time know how to play snake, navigating a small little black dot on the screen and eat food to grow longer. These days, mobile games are not just black and white or as simple as that. Featuring flashy graphics, polyphonic music, addicting gameplay and a story actually means more than save the princess.
Fantasy Warrior 2 is a good example of what todays mobile games are! There are two separate version of game, good and evil. The gameplay on both are very similar, except the characters and a story that is unique to each. In Good, you play as Rento, the hero from the first game and a weird styling young warrior. In Evil you play as Vera, an awoken sexy vampire from her long sleep. You navigate through the game world just like a RPG games, a standard top down view ARPG that play very similar to zelda. Playing games on mobile phones are not as easy as on handheld as it wasn’t a hardcore gaming devices. So most action has been simplifies. The battle system in the game is very well done. There is no random battle in the game, creatures are visually visible. To go into battle, you have to walk right to it. In the battle screen, don’t feel weird if you can’t find the button to attack enemy as there is none! To attack an enemy, just walk right into it in any direction and your character will automatically do the attacks. The graphics are nothing to complain about, definitely look nicer than those early SNES games. The sound effect and music are also great with wide variety of music accompany different situation.
Overall Fantasy Warrior 2 (Good/Evil) worth every bucks you spend, with a lenghty & addictive gameplay. It’s nothing like a casual games, it is a full of exciting Role-playing games that set a new standard to mobile gaming.
Score: 9.0/10
